{"identifier":"/us/usc/t16/s6409","title":16,"num":"\u00a7\u202f6409.","heading":"Coral Reef Disaster Fund","text":"\u00a7\u202f6409.\nCoral Reef Disaster Fund\n(a)\nAgreements\nThe Administrator shall seek to enter into an agreement with the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (in this section referred to as the \u201cFoundation\u201d), authorizing the Foundation to receive, hold, and administer funds received under this section.\n(b)\nFund\n(1)\nIn general\nThe Foundation shall establish an account, to be known as the \u201cCoral Reef Disaster Fund\u201d (in this section referred to as the \u201cFund\u201d).\n(2)\nDeposits\nThe Foundation shall deposit funds received under this section into the Fund.\n(3)\nPurposes\nThe Fund shall be available solely to support the long-term recovery of coral reefs from exigent circumstances described in\n(A) in partnership with non-Federal stakeholders; and\n(B) in a manner that is consistent with\u2014\n(i) the National Coral Reef Resilience Strategy; and\n(ii) coral reef action plans in effect, if any, under\nsection 6404 of this title\n(4)\nInvestment of amounts\n(A)\nInvestment of amounts\nThe Foundation shall invest such portion of the Fund as is not required to meet current withdrawals in interest-bearing obligations of the United States or in obligations guaranteed as to both principal and interest by the United States.\n(B)\nInterest and proceeds\nThe interest on, and the proceeds from, the sale or redemption of, any obligations held in the Fund shall be credited to and form a part of the Fund.\n(5)\nReview of performance\nThe Administrator shall conduct continuing reviews of all deposits into, and disbursements from, the Fund.
