{"identifier":"/us/usc/t20/s80q\u201314","title":20,"num":"\u00a7\u202f80q\u201314.","heading":"Definitions","text":"\u00a7\u202f80q\u201314.\nDefinitions\nAs used in this subchapter\u2014\n(1) the term \u201cBoard of Regents\u201d means the Board of Regents of the Smithsonian Institution;\n(2) the term \u201cBoard of Trustees\u201d means the Board of Trustees of the National Museum of the American Indian;\n(3) the term \u201cburial site\u201d means a natural or prepared physical location, whether below, on, or above the surface of the earth, into which, as a part of a death rite or ceremony of a culture, individual human remains are deposited;\n(4) the term \u201cfunerary object\u201d means an object that, as part of a death rite or ceremony of a culture, is intentionally placed with individual human remains, either at the time of burial or later;\n(5) the term \u201cHeye Foundation assets\u201d means the collections, endowment, and all other property of the Heye Foundation (other than the interest of the Heye Foundation in Audubon Terrace) described in the Memorandum of Understanding between the Smithsonian Institution and the Heye Foundation, dated\nMay 8, 1989\n(6) the term \u201cHeye Museum\u201d means the Museum of the American Indian, Heye Foundation;\n(7) the term \u201cIndian\u201d means a member of an Indian tribe;\n(8) the term \u201cIndian tribe\u201d has the meaning given that term in\nsection 5304 of title 25\n(9) the term \u201cNational Museum\u201d means the National Museum of the American Indian established by\nsection 80q\u20131 of this title\n(10) the term \u201cNative American\u201d means an individual of a tribe, people, or culture that is indigenous to the Americas and such term includes a Native Hawaiian;
