{"identifier":"/us/usc/t20/s9101","title":20,"num":"\u00a7\u202f9101.","heading":"General definitions","text":"\u00a7\u202f9101.\nGeneral definitions\nAs used in this chapter:\n(1)\nDetermined to be obscene\nThe term \u201cdetermined to be obscene\u201d means determined, in a final judgment of a court of record and of competent jurisdiction in the United States, to be obscene.\n(2)\nDigital literacy skills\nThe term \u201cdigital literacy skills\u201d means the skills associated with\u2014\n(A) using technology to enable users to find, evaluate, organize, create, and communicate information; and\n(B) developing digital citizenship and the responsible use of technology.\n(3)\nDirector\nThe term \u201cDirector\u201d means the Director of the Institute appointed under\nsection 9103 of this title\n(4)\nFinal judgment\nThe term \u201cfinal judgment\u201d means a judgment that is\u2014\n(A) not reviewed by any other court that has authority to review such judgment; or\n(B) not reviewable by any other court.\n(5)\nIndian tribe\nThe term \u201cIndian tribe\u201d means any tribe, band, nation, or other organized group or community, including any Alaska native village, regional corporation, or village corporation (as defined in, or established pursuant to, the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (\n43 U.S.C. 1601\n(6)\nInstitute\nThe term \u201cInstitute\u201d means the Institute of Museum and Library Services established under\nsection 9102 of this title\n(7)\nMuseum and Library Services Board\nThe term \u201cMuseum and Library Services Board\u201d means the National Museum and Library Services Board established under\nsection 9105a of this title\n(8)\nObscene\nThe term \u201cobscene\u201d means, with respect to a project, that\u2014\n(A) the average person, applying contemporary community standards, would find that such project, when taken as a whole, appeals to the prurient interest;\n(B) such project depicts or describes sexual conduct in a patently offensive way;
