{"identifier":"/us/usc/t22/s2431a","title":22,"num":"\u00a7\u202f2431a.","heading":"Definitions","text":"\u00a7\u202f2431a.\nDefinitions\nAs used in this subchapter:\n(1)\nAdministering body\nThe term \u201cadministering body\u201d means the entity provided for in\nsection 2431g(c) of this title\n(2)\nAppropriate congressional committees\nThe term \u201cappropriate congressional committees\u201d means\u2014\n(A) the Committee on International Relations and the Committee on Appropriations of the House of Representatives; and\n(B) the Committee on Foreign Relations and the Committee on Appropriations of the Senate.\n(3)\nBeneficiary country\nThe term \u201cbeneficiary country\u201d means an eligible country with respect to which the authority of\nsection 2431d(a)(1) of this title\nsection 2431e(a)(1) of this title\nsection 2431f(a) of this title\n(4)\nBoard\nThe term \u201cBoard\u201d means the board referred to in\nsection 2431i of this title\n(5)\nDeveloping country with a tropical forest or coral reef\nThe term \u201cdeveloping country with a tropical forest or coral reef\u201d means\u2014\n(A)\n(i) a country that has a per capita income of $725 or less in 1994 United States dollars (commonly referred to as \u201clow-income country\u201d), as determined and adjusted on an annual basis by the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development in its World Development Report; or\n(ii) a country that has a per capita income of more than $725 but less than $8,956 in 1994 United States dollars (commonly referred to as \u201cmiddle-income country\u201d), as determined and adjusted on an annual basis by the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development in its World Development Report; and\n(B) a country that contains at least one tropical forest or coral reef that is globally outstanding in terms of its biological diversity or represents one of the larger intact blocks of tropical forests or coral reefs left, on a regional, continental, or global scale.\n(6)\nEligible country\nThe term \u201celigible country\u201d means a country designated by the President in accordance with\nsection 2431c of this title\n(7)\nConservation Agreement\nThe term \u201cConservation Agreement\u201d or \u201cAgreement\u201d means a Conservation Agreement provided for in\nsection 2431g of this title\n(8)\nConservation Facility\nThe term \u201cConservation Facility\u201d or \u201cFacility\u201d means the Conservation Facility established in the Department of the Treasury by\nsection 2431b of this title\n(9)\nConservation Fund\nThe term \u201cConservation Fund\u201d or \u201cFund\u201d means a Conservation Fund provided for in\nsection 2431h of this title\n(10)\nCoral\nThe term \u201ccoral\u201d means species of the phylum Cnidaria, including\u2014\n(A) all species of the orders Antipatharia (black corals), Scleractinia (stony corals), Alcyonacea (soft corals), Gorgonacea (horny corals), Stolonifera (organpipe corals and others), and Coenothecalia (blue coral), of the class Anthoza;\n1\n1 So in original.
