rule of construction\n(a)\nIn general\nThe following activities shall be exempt from sanctions under sections 9403, 9404, 9405, and 9406 of this title:\n(1) Any activity subject to the reporting requirements under title V of the National Security Act of 1947 (\n50 U.S.C. 3091\n(2) The admission of an alien to the United States if such admission is necessary to comply with United States obligations under the Agreement between the United Nations and the United States of America regarding the Headquarters of the United Nations, signed at Lake Success\nJune 26, 1947\nNovember 21, 1947\nApril 24, 1963\nMarch 19, 1967\n(3) The conduct or facilitation of a transaction for the sale of agricultural commodities, food, medicine, or medical devices to Iran or for the provision of humanitarian assistance to the people of Iran, including engaging in a financial transaction relating to humanitarian assistance or for humanitarian purposes or transporting goods or services that are necessary to carry out operations relating to humanitarian assistance or humanitarian purposes.\n(b)\nImplementation\nThe President may exercise all authorities provided under sections 203 and 205 of the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (\n50 U.S.C. 1702\n(c)\nRule of construction\nNothing in this chapter shall be construed to limit the authority of the President under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (\n50 U.S.C. 1701\n(d)\nDefinitions\nIn this section:\n(1)\nAgricultural commodity\nThe term \u201cagricultural commodity\u201d has the meaning given that term in\nsection 5602 of title 7\n(2)\nGood\nThe term \u201cgood\u201d has the meaning given that term in section 4618\n1\n1 See References in Text note below.\n50 U.S.C. 1701\n(3)\nMedical device\nThe term \u201cmedical device\u201d has the meaning given the term \u201cdevice\u201d in\nsection 321 of title 21\n(4)\nMedicine\nThe term \u201cmedicine\u201d has the meaning given the term \u201cdrug\u201d in\nsection 321 of title 21","url":"https://projectusc.org/usc/t22/s9410.html","content":[{"t":"sec","id":"/us/usc/t22/s9410","children":[{"t":"num","text":"\u00a7\u202f9410."},{"t":"heading","text":"Exceptions for national security and humanitarian assistance;
