{"identifier":"/us/usc/t25/s305d","title":25,"num":"\u00a7\u202f305d.","heading":"Criminal proceedings; civil actions","text":"\u00a7\u202f305d.\nCriminal proceedings; civil actions\n(a)\nDefinition of Federal law enforcement officer\nIn this section, the term \u201cFederal law enforcement officer\u201d includes a Federal law enforcement officer (as defined in\nsection 115(c) of title 18\n(b)\nAuthority to conduct investigations\nAny Federal law enforcement officer shall have the authority to conduct an investigation relating to an alleged violation of this Act occurring within the jurisdiction of the United States.\n(c)\nCriminal proceedings\n(1)\nInvestigation\n(A)\nIn general\nThe Board may refer an alleged violation of\nsection 1159 of title 18\n(B)\nReferral not required\nA Federal law enforcement officer may investigate an alleged violation of section 1159 of that title regardless of whether the Federal law enforcement officer receives a referral under subparagraph (A).\n(2)\nFindings\nThe findings of an investigation of an alleged violation of\n(A) a Federal or State prosecuting authority;
