or\n(C) a Land Titles and Records Office of the Bureau.\n(2)\nBureau\nThe term \u201cBureau\u201d means the Bureau of Indian Affairs.\n(3)\nDirector\nThe term \u201cDirector\u201d means the Director of the Bureau.\n(4)\nFirst certified title status report\nThe term \u201cfirst certified title status report\u201d means the title status report needed to verify title status on Indian land.\n(5)\nIndian land\nThe term \u201cIndian land\u201d has the meaning given the term in section 162.003 of title 25, Code of Federal Regulations (as in effect on\nMay 4, 2026\n(6)\nLand mortgage\nThe term \u201cland mortgage\u201d means a mortgage obtained by an individual Indian who owns a tract of trust land for the purpose of\u2014\n(A) home acquisition;\n(B) home construction;\n(C) home improvements;
