{"identifier":"/us/usc/t33/s892","title":33,"num":"\u00a7\u202f892.","heading":"Definitions","text":"\u00a7\u202f892.\nDefinitions\nIn this subchapter:\n(1)\nAdministrator\nThe term \u201cAdministrator\u201d means the Administrator of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.\n(2)\nAdministration\nThe term \u201cAdministration\u201d means the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.\n(3)\nHydrographic data\nThe term \u201chydrographic data\u201d means information that\u2014\n(A) is acquired through\u2014\n(i) hydrographic, bathymetric, photogrammetric, lidar, radar, remote sensing, or shoreline and other ocean- and coastal-related surveying;\n(ii) geodetic, geospatial, or geomagnetic measurements;\n(iii) tide, water level, and current observations; or\n(iv) other methods; and\n(B) is used in providing hydrographic services.\n(4)\nHydrographic services\nThe term \u201chydrographic services\u201d means\u2014\n(A) the management, maintenance, interpretation, certification, and dissemination of bathymetric, hydrographic, shoreline, geodetic, geospatial, geomagnetic, and tide, water level, and current information, including the production of nautical charts, nautical information databases, hydrodynamic forecast and datum transformation models, and other products derived from hydrographic data;\n(B) the development of nautical information systems;
