{"identifier":"/us/usc/t34/s50301","title":34,"num":"\u00a7\u202f50301.","heading":"Definitions","text":"\u00a7\u202f50301.\nDefinitions\nIn this chapter:\n(1)\nFederal agency head\nThe term \u201cFederal agency head\u201d means the head of any executive, legislative, or judicial branch Government entity that employs Federal law enforcement officers.\n(2)\nFederal Board\nThe term \u201cFederal Board\u201d means the Federal Law Enforcement Congressional Badge of Bravery Board established under\nsection 50313(a) of this title\n(3)\nFederal Board members\nThe term \u201cFederal Board members\u201d means the members of the Federal Board appointed under\nsection 50313(c) of this title\n(4)\nFederal Law Enforcement Badge\nThe term \u201cFederal Law Enforcement Badge\u201d means the Federal Law Enforcement Congressional Badge of Bravery described in\nsection 50311 of this title\n(5)\nFederal law enforcement officer\nThe term \u201cFederal law enforcement officer\u201d\u2014\n(A) means a Federal employee\u2014\n(i) who has statutory authority to make arrests or apprehensions;\n(ii) who is authorized by the agency of the employee to carry firearms; and\n(iii) whose duties are primarily\u2014\n(I) engagement in or supervision of the prevention, detection, investigation, or prosecution of, or the incarceration of any person for, any violation of law; or\n(II) the protection of Federal, State, local, or foreign government officials against threats to personal safety; and\n(B) includes a law enforcement officer employed by the Amtrak Police Department or Federal Reserve.\n(6)\nOffice\nThe term \u201cOffice\u201d means the Congressional Badge of Bravery Office established under\nsection 50331(a) of this title\n(7)\nState and Local Board\nThe term \u201cState and Local Board\u201d means the State and Local Law Enforcement Congressional Badge of Bravery Board established under\nsection 50323(a) of this title\n(8)\nState and Local Board members\nThe term \u201cState and Local Board members\u201d means the members of the State and Local Board appointed under\nsection 50323(c) of this title\n(9)\nState and Local Law Enforcement Badge\nThe term \u201cState and Local Law Enforcement Badge\u201d means the State and Local Law Enforcement Congressional Badge of Bravery described in\nsection 50321 of this title\n(10)\nState or local agency head\nThe term \u201cState or local agency head\u201d means the head of any executive, legislative, or judicial branch entity of a State or local government that employs State or local law enforcement officers.\n(11)\nState or local law enforcement officer\nThe term \u201cState or local law enforcement officer\u201d means an employee of a State or local government\u2014\n(A) who has statutory authority to make arrests or apprehensions;\n(B) who is authorized by the agency of the employee to carry firearms;
