{"identifier":"/us/usc/t40/s3314","title":40,"num":"\u00a7\u202f3314.","heading":"Baby changing facilities in restrooms","text":"\u00a7\u202f3314.\nBaby changing facilities in restrooms\n(a)\nAdditional Requirement for the Construction, Alteration, and Acquisition of Public Buildings.\u2014\nExcept as provided in subsection (b) and subject to any reasonable accommodations that may be made for individuals in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (\n42 U.S.C. 12101\n(b)\nExceptions.\u2014\nThe requirement under subsection (a) shall not apply\u2014\n(1) to a restroom in a public building that is not available or accessible for public use;\n(2) to a restroom in a public building that contains clear and conspicuous signage indicating where a restroom with a baby changing table is located on the same floor of such public building;\n(3) if new construction would be required to install a baby changing facility in the public building and the cost of such construction is unfeasible; or\n(4) to a building not subject to an alteration as set forth in section 3307.\n(c)\nDefinitions.\u2014\nIn this section:\n(1)\nBaby changing facility.\u2014\nThe term \u201cbaby changing facility\u201d means a table or other device suitable for changing the diaper of a child age 3 or under.\n(2)\nPubic\u202f11\u202fSo in original.
