{"identifier":"/us/usc/t40/s548","title":40,"num":"\u00a7\u202f548.","heading":"Surplus vessels","text":"\u00a7\u202f548.\nSurplus vessels\n(a)\nIn General.\u2014\nExcept as provided in subsection (b), the Maritime Administration shall dispose of surplus vessels of 1,500 gross tons or more which the Administration determines to be merchant vessels or capable of conversion to merchant use.
