{"identifier":"/us/usc/t42/s13641","title":42,"num":"\u00a7\u202f13641.","heading":"Definitions","text":"\u00a7\u202f13641.\nDefinitions\nFor purposes of this title:\n(1)\nElderly, disabled, and near-elderly families\nThe terms \u201celderly family\u201d, \u201cdisabled family\u201d, and \u201cnear-elderly family\u201d have the meanings given the terms under section 3(b)(3) of the United States Housing Act of 1937 [\n42 U.S.C. 1437a(b)(3)\n(2)\nFederally assisted housing\nThe terms \u201cfederally assisted housing\u201d and \u201cproject\u201d mean\u2014\n(A) a public housing project (as such term is defined in section 3(b) of the United States Housing Act of 1937 [\n42 U.S.C. 1437a(b)\n(B) housing for which project-based assistance is provided under section 8 of the United States Housing Act of 1937 [\n42 U.S.C. 1437f\n(C) housing that is assisted under\nsection 1701q of title 12\n(D) housing that is assisted under\nsection 1701q of title 12\nNovember 28, 1990\n(E) housing financed by a loan or mortgage insured under section 1715\nl\nl\n(F) housing insured, assisted, or held by the Secretary or a State or State agency under\nsection 1715z\u20131 of title 12\n(G) housing constructed or substantially rehabilitated pursuant to assistance provided under section 8(b)(2) of the United States Housing Act of 1937 [\n42 U.S.C. 1437f(b)(2)\nOctober 1, 1983\n(H) housing that is assisted under section 8013\n1\n(3)\nHousing assistance\nThe term \u201chousing assistance\u201d means, with respect to federally assisted housing, the grant, contribution, capital advance, loan, mortgage insurance, or other assistance provided for the housing under the provisions of law referred to in paragraph (2).
