{"identifier":"/us/usc/t42/s1962\u20134","title":42,"num":"\u00a7\u202f1962\u20134.","heading":"Implementation of water resources principles and requirements","text":"\u00a7\u202f1962\u20134.\nImplementation of water resources principles and requirements\n(a)\nIn general\nNot later than 180 days after\nDecember 27, 2020\n(b)\nDevelopment of future water resources development projects\nThe procedures required by subsection (a) shall ensure that the Secretary, in the formulation of future water resources development projects\u2014\n(1) develops such projects in accordance with\u2014\n(A) the guiding principles established by the principles and requirements; and\n(B) the national water resources planning policy established by\nsection 1962\u20133(a) of this title\n(2) fully identifies and analyzes national economic development benefits, regional economic development benefits, environmental quality benefits, and other societal effects.\n(c)\nReview and update\nEvery 5 years, the Secretary shall review and, where appropriate, revise the procedures required by subsection (a).\n(d)\nPublic review, notice, and comment\nIn issuing, reviewing, and revising the procedures required by this section, the Secretary shall\u2014\n(1) provide notice to interested non-Federal stakeholders of the Secretary\u2019s intent to revise the procedures;\n(2) provide opportunities for interested non-Federal stakeholders to engage with, and provide input and recommendations to, the Secretary on the revision of the procedures;
