{"identifier":"/us/usc/t42/s300x\u20134","title":42,"num":"\u00a7\u202f300x\u20134.","heading":"Additional provisions","text":"\u00a7\u202f300x\u20134.\nAdditional provisions\n(a)\nReview of State plan by mental health planning council\nThe Secretary may make a grant under\n(1) the plan submitted under\nsection 300x\u20131(a) of this title\nsection 300x\u201352(a) of this title\nsection 300x\u20133 of this title\n(2) the State submits to the Secretary any recommendations received by the State from such council for modifications to the plan (without regard to whether the State has made the recommended modifications) and any comments concerning the annual report.\n(b)\nMaintenance of effort regarding State expenditures for mental health\n(1)\nIn general\nA funding agreement for a grant under\nsection 300x of this title\n(2)\nExclusion of certain funds\nThe Secretary may exclude from the aggregate State expenditures under subsection (a), funds appropriated to the principle agency for authorized activities which are of a non-recurring nature and for a specific purpose.\n(3)\nWaiver\n(A)\nIn general\nThe Secretary may, upon the request of a State, waive the requirement established in paragraph (1) in whole or in part if the Secretary determines that extraordinary economic conditions in the State in the fiscal year involved or in the previous fiscal year justify the waiver\n1\n1 So in original.
