{"identifier":"/us/usc/t42/s914","title":42,"num":"\u00a7\u202f914.","heading":"Office of Women\u2019s Health","text":"\u00a7\u202f914.\nOffice of Women\u2019s Health\n(a)\nEstablishment\nThe Secretary shall establish within the Office of the Administrator of the Health Resources and Services Administration, an office to be known as the Office of Women\u2019s Health. The Office shall be headed by a director who shall be appointed by the Administrator.\n(b)\nPurpose\nThe Director of the Office shall\u2014\n(1) report to the Administrator on the current Administration level of activity regarding women\u2019s health across, where appropriate, age, biological, and sociocultural contexts;\n(2) establish short-range and long-range goals and objectives within the Health Resources and Services Administration for women\u2019s health and, as relevant and appropriate, coordinate with other appropriate offices on activities within the Administration that relate to health care provider training, health service delivery, research, and demonstration projects, for issues of particular concern to women;\n(3) identify projects in women\u2019s health that should be conducted or supported by the bureaus of the Administration;\n(4) consult with health professionals, nongovernmental organizations, consumer organizations, women\u2019s health professionals, and other individuals and groups, as appropriate, on Administration policy with regard to women; and\n(5) serve as a member of the Department of Health and Human Services Coordinating Committee on Women\u2019s Health (established under\nsection 237a(b)(4) of this title\n(c)\nContinued administration of existing programs\nThe Director of the Office shall assume the authority for the development, implementation, administration, and evaluation of any projects carried out through the Health Resources and Services Administration relating to women\u2019s health on\nMarch 23, 2010\n(d)\nDefinitions\nFor purposes of this section:\n(1)\nAdministration\nThe term \u201cAdministration\u201d means the Health Resources and Services Administration.\n(2)\nAdministrator\nThe term \u201cAdministrator\u201d means the Administrator of the Health Resources and Services Administration.\n(3)\nOffice\nThe term \u201cOffice\u201d means the Office of Women\u2019s Health established under this section in the Administration.\n(e)\nAuthorization of appropriations\nFor the purpose of carrying out this section, there are authorized to be appropriated such sums as may be necessary for each of the fiscal years 2010 through 2014.","url":"https://projectusc.org/usc/t42/s914.html","content":[{"t":"sec","id":"/us/usc/t42/s914","children":[{"t":"num","text":"\u00a7\u202f914."},{"t":"heading","text":"Office of Women\u2019s Health"},{"t":"subsec","id":"/us/usc/t42/s914/a","children":[{"t":"num","text":"(a)"},{"t":"heading","text":"Establishment"},{"t":"content","children":[{"t":"p","text":"The Secretary shall establish within the Office of the Administrator of the Health Resources and Services Administration, an office to be known as the Office of Women\u2019s Health.
