{"identifier":"/us/usc/t43/s3008","title":43,"num":"\u00a7\u202f3008.","heading":"Renewable energy revenue sharing","text":"\u00a7\u202f3008.\nRenewable energy revenue sharing\n(a)\nDefinitions\nIn this section:\n(1)\nCounty\nThe term \u201ccounty\u201d includes a parish, township, borough, and any other similar, independent unit of local government.\n(2)\nCovered land\nThe term \u201ccovered land\u201d means land that is\u2014\n(A) public land administered by the Secretary; and\n(B) not excluded from the development of solar or wind energy under\u2014\n(i) a land use plan; or\n(ii) other Federal law.\n(3)\nNational Forest System\n(A)\nIn general\nThe term \u201cNational Forest System\u201d means land of the National Forest System (as defined in\nsection 1609(a) of title 16\n(B)\nExclusion\nThe term \u201cNational Forest System\u201d does not include any forest reserve not created from the public domain.\n(4)\nPublic land\nThe term \u201cpublic land\u201d means\u2014\n(A) public lands (as defined in\nsection 1702 of this title\n(B) National Forest System land.\n(5)\nRenewable energy project\nThe term \u201crenewable energy project\u201d means a system described in section 2801.9(a)(4) of title 43, Code of Federal Regulations (as in effect on\nJuly 4, 2025\n(6)\nSecretary\nThe term \u201cSecretary\u201d means\u2014\n(A) the Secretary of the Interior, with respect to land controlled or administered by the Secretary of the Interior; and\n(B) the Secretary of Agriculture, with respect to National Forest System land.\n(b)\nDisposition of revenue\n(1)\nDisposition of revenues\nBeginning on\n(A) be deposited in the general fund of the Treasury;
