{"identifier":"/us/usc/t47/s537a","title":47,"num":"\u00a7\u202f537a.","heading":"Carriage of certain programming","text":"\u00a7\u202f537a.\nCarriage of certain programming\n(a)\nDefinitions\nIn this section\u2014\n(1) the term \u201clocal commercial television station\u201d has the meaning given the term in\nsection 534(h) of this title\n(2) the term \u201cmultichannel video programming distributor\u201d has the meaning given the term in\nsection 522 of this title\n(3) the term \u201cqualified noncommercial educational television station\u201d has the meaning given the term in section 535(\nl\n(4) the term \u201cretransmission consent\u201d means the authority granted to a multichannel video programming distributor under\nsection 325(b) of this title\n(5) the term \u201ctelevision broadcast station\u201d has the meaning given the term in section 76.66(a) of title 47, Code of Federal Regulations.\n(b)\nCarriage of certain content\nNotwithstanding any other provision of law, a multichannel video programming distributor may not be directly or indirectly required, including as a condition of obtaining retransmission consent, to\u2014\n(1) carry non-incidental video content from a local commercial television station, qualified noncommercial educational television station, or television broadcast station to the extent that such content is owned, controlled, or financed (in whole or in part) by the Government of the Russian Federation;
