{"identifier":"/us/usc/t49/s115","title":49,"num":"\u00a7\u202f115.","heading":"Transportation Security Oversight Board","text":"\u00a7\u202f115.\nTransportation Security Oversight Board\n(a)\nIn General.\u2014\nThere is established in the Department of Homeland Security a board to be known as the \u201cTransportation Security Oversight Board\u201d.\n(b)\nMembership.\u2014\n(1)\nNumber and appointment.\u2014\nThe Board shall be composed of 7 members as follows:\n(A) The Secretary of Homeland Security, or the Secretary\u2019s designee.\n(B) The Secretary of Transportation, or the Secretary\u2019s designee.\n(C) The Attorney General, or the Attorney General\u2019s designee.\n(D) The Secretary of Defense, or the Secretary\u2019s designee.\n(E) The Secretary of the Treasury, or the Secretary\u2019s designee.\n(F) The Director of National Intelligence, or the Director\u2019s designee.\n(G) One member appointed by the President to represent the National Security Council.\n(2)\nChairperson.\u2014\nThe Chairperson of the Board shall be the Secretary of Homeland Security.\n(c)\nDuties.\u2014\nThe Board shall\u2014\n(1) review and ratify or disapprove any regulation or security directive issued by the Administrator of the Transportation Security Administration under section 114(\nl\n(2) facilitate the coordination of intelligence, security, and law enforcement activities affecting transportation;\n(3) facilitate the sharing of intelligence, security, and law enforcement information affecting transportation among Federal agencies and with carriers and other transportation providers as appropriate;\n(4) explore the technical feasibility of developing a common database of individuals who may pose a threat to transportation or national security;\n(5) review plans for transportation security;\n(6) make recommendations to the Administrator regarding matters reviewed under paragraph (5).\n(d)\nQuarterly Meetings.\u2014\nThe Board shall meet at least quarterly.\n(e)\nConsideration of Security Information.\u2014\nA majority of the Board may vote to close a meeting of the Board to the public, except that meetings shall be closed to the public whenever classified,\n1\n1 So in original.
