{"identifier":"/us/usc/t6/s677a","title":6,"num":"\u00a7\u202f677a.","heading":"Definitions","text":"\u00a7\u202f677a.\nDefinitions\nFor the purposes of this part:\n(1)\nAsset response activity\nThe term \u201casset response activity\u201d means an activity to support an entity impacted by an incident with the response to, remediation of, or recovery from, the incident, including\u2014\n(A) furnishing technical and advisory assistance to the entity to protect the assets of the entity, mitigate vulnerabilities, and reduce the related impacts;\n(B) assessing potential risks to the critical infrastructure sector or geographic region impacted by the incident, including potential cascading effects of the incident on other critical infrastructure sectors or geographic regions;\n(C) developing courses of action to mitigate the risks assessed under subparagraph (B);\n(D) facilitating information sharing and operational coordination with entities performing threat response activities; and\n(E) providing guidance on how best to use Federal resources and capabilities in a timely, effective manner to speed recovery from the incident.\n(2)\nDeclaration\nThe term \u201cdeclaration\u201d means a declaration of the Secretary under\nsection 677b(a)(1) of this title\n(3)\nDirector\nThe term \u201cDirector\u201d means the Director of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency.\n(4)\nFederal agency\nThe term \u201cFederal agency\u201d has the meaning given the term \u201cagency\u201d in\nsection 3502 of title 44\n(5)\nFund\nThe term \u201cFund\u201d means the Cyber Response and Recovery Fund established under\nsection 677c(a) of this title\n(6)\nIncident\nThe term \u201cincident\u201d has the meaning given the term in\nsection 3552 of title 44\n(7)\nRenewal\nThe term \u201crenewal\u201d means a renewal of a declaration under\nsection 677b(d) of this title\n(8)\nSignificant incident\nThe term \u201csignificant incident\u201d\u2014\n(A) means an incident or a group of related incidents that results, or is likely to result, in demonstrable harm to\u2014\n(i) the national security interests, foreign relations, or economy of the United States;
