{"identifier":"/us/usc/t7/s2008q\u20131","title":7,"num":"\u00a7\u202f2008q\u20131.","heading":"Grants to improve supply, stability, safety, and training of agricultural labor force","text":"\u00a7\u202f2008q\u20131.\nGrants to improve supply, stability, safety, and training of agricultural labor force\n(a)\nDefinition of eligible entity\nIn this section, the term \u201celigible entity\u201d means an entity described in section 2008q(a)\n1\n1 See References in Text note below.\n(b)\nGrants\n(1)\nIn general\nTo assist agricultural employers and farmworkers by improving the supply, stability, safety, and training of the agricultural labor force, the Secretary may provide grants to eligible entities for use in providing services to assist farmworkers who are citizens or otherwise legally present in the United States in securing, retaining, upgrading, or returning from agricultural jobs.\n(2)\nEligible services\nThe services referred to in paragraph (1) include\u2014\n(A) agricultural labor skills development;\n(B) the provision of agricultural labor market information;\n(C) transportation;\n(D) short-term housing while in transit to an agricultural worksite;\n(E) workplace literacy and assistance with English as a second language;\n(F) health and safety instruction, including ways of safeguarding the food supply of the United States; and\n(G) such other services as the Secretary determines to be appropriate.\n(c)\nLimitation on administrative expenses\nNot more than 15 percent of the funds made available to carry out this section for a fiscal year may be used to pay for administrative expenses.\n(d)\nAuthorization of appropriations\nThere are authorized to be appropriated to carry out this section\u2014\n(1) such sums as are necessary for each of fiscal years 2008 through 2013;
