{"identifier":"/us/usc/t7/s3222d","title":7,"num":"\u00a7\u202f3222d.","heading":"Matching funds requirement for research and extension activities at eligible institutions","text":"\u00a7\u202f3222d.\nMatching funds requirement for research and extension activities at eligible institutions\n(a)\nDefinitions\nIn this section:\n(1)\nEligible institution\nThe term \u201celigible institution\u201d means a college eligible to receive funds under the Act of\nAugust 30, 1890\n7 U.S.C. 321\n(2)\nFormula funds\nThe term \u201cformula funds\u201d means the formula allocation funds distributed to eligible institutions under sections 3221 and 3222 of this title.\n(b)\nDetermination of non-Federal sources of funds\nNot later than\n(1) the sources of non-Federal funds made available by the State to the eligible institution for agricultural research, extension, and education to meet the requirements of this section; and\n(2) the amount of such funds generally available from each source.\n(c)\nMatching formula\nNotwithstanding any other provision of this subchapter, the State shall provide equal matching funds from non-Federal sources.\n(d)\nWaiver authority\nNotwithstanding subsection (f), the Secretary may waive the matching funds requirement under subsection (c) above the 50 percent level for any fiscal year for an eligible institution of a State if the Secretary determines that the State will be unlikely to satisfy the matching requirement.\n(e)\nUse of matching funds\nUnder terms and conditions established by the Secretary, matching funds provided as required by subsection (c) may be used by an eligible institution for agricultural research, extension, and education activities.\n(f)\nRedistribution of funds\n(1)\nRedistribution required\nFederal funds that are not matched by a State in accordance with subsection (c) for a fiscal year shall be redistributed by the Secretary to eligible institutions whose States have satisfied the matching funds requirement for that fiscal year.\n(2)\nAdministration\nAny redistribution of funds under this subsection shall be subject to the applicable matching requirement specified in subsection (c) and shall be made in a manner consistent with sections 3221 and 3222 of this title, as determined by the Secretary.","url":"https://projectusc.org/usc/t7/s3222d.html","content":[{"t":"sec","id":"/us/usc/t7/s3222d","children":[{"t":"num","text":"\u00a7\u202f3222d."},{"t":"heading","text":"Matching funds requirement for research and extension activities at eligible institutions"},{"t":"subsec","id":"/us/usc/t7/s3222d/a","children":[{"t":"num","text":"(a)"},{"t":"heading","text":"Definitions"},{"t":"chapeau","text":"In this section:"},{"t":"para","id":"/us/usc/t7/s3222d/a/1","children":[{"t":"num","text":"(1)"},{"t":"heading","text":"Eligible institution"},{"t":"content","children":[{"t":"p","text":"The term \u201celigible institution\u201d means a college eligible to receive funds under the Act of ","children":[{"t":"text","text":"August 30, 1890","tail":" ("},{"t":"ref","text":"7 U.S.C. 321","href":"/us/usc/t7/s321","tail":" et seq.)
