{"identifier":"/us/usc/t7/s4502","title":7,"num":"\u00a7\u202f4502.","heading":"Definitions","text":"\u00a7\u202f4502.\nDefinitions\nAs used in this subchapter\u2014\n(a) the term \u201cBoard\u201d means the National Dairy Promotion and Research Board established under\nsection 4504 of this title\n(b) the term \u201cDepartment\u201d means the Department of Agriculture;\n(c) the term \u201cSecretary\u201d means the Secretary of Agriculture;\n(d) the term \u201cmilk\u201d means any class of cow\u2019s milk;\n(e) the term \u201cdairy products\u201d means products manufactured for human consumption which are derived from the processing of milk, and includes fluid milk products;\n(f) the term \u201cfluid milk products\u201d means those milk products normally consumed in liquid form as a beverage;\n(g) the term \u201cperson\u201d means any individual, group of individuals, partnership, corporation, association, cooperative, or any other entity;\n(h) the term \u201cproducer\u201d means any person engaged in the production of milk for commercial use;\n(i) the term \u201cpromotion\u201d means actions such as paid advertising, sales promotion, and publicity to advance the image and sales of and demand for dairy products;\n(j) the term \u201cresearch\u201d means studies testing the effectiveness of market development and promotion efforts, studies relating to the nutritional value of milk and dairy products, and other related efforts to expand demand for milk and dairy products;\n(k) the term \u201cnutrition education\u201d means those activities intended to broaden the understanding of sound nutritional principles including the role of milk and dairy products in a balanced diet;\n(l) the term \u201cUnited States\u201d, when used in a geographical sense, means all of the States, the District of Columbia, and the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico;\n(m) the term \u201cimported dairy product\u201d means any dairy product that is imported into the United States, including dairy products imported into the United States in the form of\u2014\n(1) milk, cream, and fresh and dried dairy products;\n(2) butter and butterfat mixtures;\n(3) cheese;
